Essential Qualifications/skills/experience
*3+ years’ experience in a similar role
*Fluent in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP with a strong focus on frontend development
*Extensive experience developing for WordPress with a deep understanding of themes, templates, and plugins
*Proven experience with API creation and integration of third-party services such as CRMs (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics), payment providers (e.g. Stripe) and learning platforms (e.g. Talent LMS)
*Project management
*Familiarity with WCAG standards and experience in implementing best practices for accessibility
*Experience with UI/UX principles, understanding of user-centric design, and the ability to create intuitive, visually appealing interfaces
*Ability to handle multiple, concurrent feature requests and larger web development projects in a fast-paced environment
*Solid understanding of cross-browser compatibility and how to test and resolve rendering issues across multiple platforms
*Solid understanding of WordPress security best practices, including common causes of vulnerabilities and how to prevent them
*Knowledge of performance optimisation techniques, including image compression, caching, and content delivery networks (CDNs)
*Good discipline with change management, including source control (e.g. Git)
*Experience in e-commerce development
*Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
