Contract Details: Temporary, Part-Time (working 3 days per week, on site)
Salary: Hourly rate from £35.76 to £45

Our client, a London Borough Council, has a vacancy in the Culture and Communities sector, we are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Weights and Measures Inspector to join their team. With their strong commitment to enforcing Trading Standards legislation and promoting compliance with the law, our client plays a vital role in ensuring the quality of goods and services in the London Borough.

Responsibilities:
As a Weights and Measures Inspector, you will be responsible for:
*Enforcing Trading Standards legislation within the North East London Metrology Partnership
*Providing legal advice and support to businesses, consumers, and other council departments/organisations
*Carrying out investigations and interviews to detect and prevent crime
*Liaising and consulting with government departments, local police, and other organisations
*Effectively dealing with complaints in accordance with office procedures
*Preparing detailed reports and making recommendations for the appropriate course of action
*Attending court proceedings as a witness when required
*Identifying unfair trading practises and advising the partnership manager
Essential:
To be considered for this role, you must have the following:
*Diploma in Weights and Measures or equivalent
*Qualified weights and measures inspector with recent experience in weights and measures inspections
*Experience in both retail and non-retail environments
Desirable:
The following are not required, but are considered an advantage:
*Knowledge of relevant legislation and appeal cases
*Familiarity with government departments and law enforcement agencies
*Ability to prepare detailed reports and collate data for formal returns
