Although the engineering knowledge required in any one area is not deep, it needs to be very broad and requires the ability to work with and understand engineers and scientists from a wide range of disciplines. You’ll be part of our Propulsion team and be working closely with the Head of Surveillance and Life Management, delivering in to Customer Support and Services. We have a fantastic team dynamic with close co-operation internally, and externally with the Customer. This will give you a wealth of expertise across the team you can learn from including some ex-services personnel who can give the User’s perspective.
Day to day you’ll be involved in the planning of overall programmes ensuring agreement of activities; responding to technical and programme issues identified in testing, maintaining a plan of the programme and reporting progress, reviewing reports of testing conducted and ensuring the reports meet the needs of MBDA and the Customer. Where needed you’ll also be making technical judgements of continued safe and suitability for use.
What we’re looking for from you:
*Minimum of HND qualified in a science or engineering subject / degree level or equivalent experience
*An interest in a broad range of technologies and sciences (there will be elements of chemistry, physics, mechanics, electronics, thermodynamics and statistics involved).
*Experience of a Systems Engineering approach to technical and programmatic problems, able to put those problems into the context of, and understand the true impact on the wider system or programme.
*Experience of systems engineering of weapon and missile systems or of key energetic equipment
*A great team player able to work constructively with a wide range of personalities.
*Able to take in to account all views in a balance way and able to challenge and influence others when needed
