Assistant Project Manager - CIVILS *Location: Portsmouth
*Job Type: Full-time
It’s an exciting time to join our Clients team as the engage on industry leading civil engineering projects This role is ideal for dynamic and forward-thinking individuals who are ready to support major civil infrastructure projects and contribute to the successful delivery of their works.
Day-to-day of the role: *Support the Project Manager in managing responsibilities under the NEC contract.
*Engage in effective communication with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
*Contribute to the planning and development phases of the project.
*Assist in the coordination and management of project activities.
*Manage various ad hoc projects from concept to completion, ensuring successful delivery.
*Represent the department at various Sub-Group meetings.
*Monitor pipeline works and coordinate activities through regular stakeholder meetings.
*Produce and support monthly progress reports and governance approval papers.
*Lead procurement, monitoring, and performance of NEC contracts.
*Support the design interface with approved suppliers.
*Utilise CEMAR contract management software for effective communication.
*Liaise with external stakeholders to secure agreement or acceptance of plans associated with the reservoir scheme.
*Ensure a seamless handover of the project into operation upon completion.
*Maintain project development in accordance with Portsmouth Water standards, specifications, and policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications: *Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management, design, or a related field.
*Demonstrable experience in major civil infrastructure projects.
*Experience with NEC contract management is desirable.
*Membership in a relevant professional institution (e.g., MICE, APM, PMI).
*Project management qualification (PRINCE, APM, or PMI).
*Full driving licence and ability to pass our driver assessment.
*Strong communication skills and the ability to build excellent relationships.
*Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and capable of fostering collaborative working.
*Proven project management capabilities and working knowledge of planning software and techniques.
*Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.
