Days/Time Required: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Pay Rates: £21 - £23 per hour
Pay Mechanism: Direct Mechanism
Job Description: We are looking for an experienced Biomedical Scientist with a focus on bacteriology to join our team at St George’s Hospital. The role involves working with a range of laboratory equipment and performing critical tasks to support microbiology diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities:
*Perform bacteriology-related laboratory work, including using analysers and equipment
*Read and interpret culture plates for identification of bacterial pathogens
*Set up and execute susceptibility tests to guide treatment decisions
*Maintain accurate records of tests, results, and procedures
*Ensure adherence to safety and quality control standards
*Collaborate with other laboratory staff and clinical teams to ensure effective workflow
Requirements:
*Proven experience in bacteriology and microbiology techniques
*Knowledge of laboratory analysers and equipment
*Familiarity with reading and interpreting culture plates
*Experience in setting up and performing susceptibility tests
*Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
