Your new firm
This is the perfect opportunity for you to get a first hand move into a strong, award-winning practice located in the Manchester area as a Bookkeeper. With services in accounts, audit, tax, payroll bookkeeping and more, it’s a firm where you can really see progression and work your way through the accounting industry. Their client base is predominately OMB’s and sole traders, where you can really get stuck into some great client-facing work and having exposure to a varied client base. Due to organic internal growth within the firm, a bookkeeper position has now arisen within the firm.
Your new role
As a bookkeeper, you will be supporting the accounts team with their daily tasks but also going out to clients regularly to assist them in their bookkeeping. Your day-to-day duties will involve bookkeeping for your own portfolio of clients, this being both office based and on-site, whilst maintaining relationships with this portfolio; to help with your clients, you will be utilising Xero and other software’s. Accounts work will also fall into this role, from assisting in the preparation and production of annual accounts, to preparing VAT returns and journals for payroll, prepayments, and accruals. Assisting and liaising with your seniors to provide advice and recommendations regarding your bookkeeping clients will also be required.
What you’ll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role, you will need prior experience within an accountancy firm, a minimum of a years’ worth. In regard to your qualifications, you will need to have either completed your AAT qualification or are currently studying your level 4 AAT, if you are part qualified in either your ACCA or ACA, which is also desired. Other qualities such as software experience and being competent in dealing with clients is required.
