Job Description:
Location: Shrewsbury, Shropshire
Position Type: Full-Time and Part-Time Positions Available
Start Date: ASAP - DBS and reference dependant
Aspire are seeking compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join a SEN school in Shrewsbury. This is an exciting opportunity to support children with special educational needs, helping them thrive in an inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN, including those with autism (ASD), ADHD, or other learning and emotional needs.
* Assist the teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons to meet individual learning goals.
* Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment, encouraging student engagement and confidence.
* Help manage behaviour in line with school policies and promote the well-being of all students.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Essential Requirements:
* Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an SEN or educational setting.
* MUSY HAVE 6 MONTHS + UK EXPERINCE
* A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
* Flexibility and adaptability to work effectively in a dynamic school environment.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
* Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant Certificate or equivalent.
* Experience supporting students with SEN in a school environment.
* Knowledge of de-escalation techniques or strategies for managing challenging behaviour.
* Additional training, such as Team Teach or Makaton, is advantageous.
