Based in London, a brilliant marketing and business development opportunity has arisen in one of the world’s leading global law firms who require a high energy business development professional to provide focused business development and marketing support to the partners and associates of the firm’s Project & Development Finance Group
The firm have an ambitious global strategy which puts clients at the very heart of everything they do and have a clear mandate to develop existing strengths and relationships whilst also increasing market share in new markets. The firm’s marketing and business development function is seen as pivotal in making this strategy a reality. The team works strategically with the partnership with the aim of making the firm the global law firm of choice for the world’s leading businesses. This role sits within the firm’s Global Financial Markets practices who are recognised as market leaders and work with many of the world’s pre-eminent financial institutions and investors. Based in London, you will primarily support the Project & Development Finance Group, which covers renewable and new energy, including a new firm initiative on energy transition opportunities, infrastructure, conventional power, oil and gas and mining and metals. With line management responsibility for members of the global team, you will enjoy a business critical role offering an opportunity to make a huge impact. This is a strategic role requiring an individual who will be able to adopt a problem-solving approach to day-to-day support, guide others in resolving complex issues, play a key role in setting best practice and take the lead on the successful delivery of cross-border and cross-practice initiatives. Working proactively to identify new and emerging opportunities, the Senior Business Development Manager will shape the practice’s business planning process and oversee the effective pursuit of opportunities and manage the cross-practice production of strategically significant RfP responses, pitches and credential statements. The successful candidate will also take a lead role in client planning, client development and client feedback. In addition, the role holder will be required to take an external view with the aim of positioning and raising the profile of the group, for example internal and external events, sponsorships, PR and campaigns, and will oversee multiple marketing communications projects, including the delivery of directory and awards submissions, client collateral and product positioning statements.
In order to perform this senior role successfully, an ideal candidate will have extensive experience in business development, preferably gained within a law firm or professional services organisation. With a global perspective and client centric view, the Senior Business Development Manager will need to be proactive, resilient and focused and demonstrate a track record of being proactive and delivering high quality work both personally and through a team. Previous line management and Energy & Infrastructure experience, ideally at a Senior Manager level, will also be essential.
