Are you an experienced Finance Manager with a strong background in Retail and e-commerce? This is a rare opportunity to join a fast-growth SME as their first in-house Finance hire, transitioning the finance function from external accountants to an in-house operation.
Our client is gearing up for the launch of an exciting new retail platform in collaboration with sports professionals.
About the Role Reporting directly to the founders, you will take full ownership of the finance function, helping to establish processes and systems while supporting the company’s ambitious growth plans. From AP and AR setup tostrategic planning, this is a hands-on role that requires a proactive and adaptable approach.
Key Responsibilities: *Establish and lead the finance function to align with the company’s growth strategy.
*Manage supplier relationships and ensure smooth payment processing.
*Prepare and present monthly management accountsand financial reports.
*Perform balance sheet reconciliations and analyse budget variances.
*Handle budget preparation, VAT returns, and bank reconciliations.
*Own the year-end accounting processes and collaborate with external auditors.
*Partner with departments such as Buying, Merchandising, IT, and Warehouse to support business goals.
*Manage cash flow and optimise payment terms to support financial stability.
*Provide insights to improve business systems and processes.
Qualifications: *CIMA/ACCA/ACA Qualified or Finalist.
*Retail and e-commerce experience is essential.
*Experience in a start-up or SME environment is advantageous.
*A hands-on, adaptable, and proactive approach.
