Job Description:
Excellent opportunities have arisen for a Laboratory Technician and a Materials Scientist within a well-established organization based in the Southwest region.
Laboratory Technician- Candidates will have an HND or BSc, in Chemistry, Physical Sciences, or Material Sciences, with practical experience in laboratory environments. While experience within the fuel cell or battery industries is highly desirable, candidates with a background in materials testing, electrochemical techniques, or energy storage systems are also encouraged to apply. Familiarity with techniques such as electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), potentiostat/galvanostat systems, and materials characterization (e.g., XRD, SEM, or BET) would be advantageous.
Materials Chemist- Applicants will possess a BSc or MSc in Chemistry or a related discipline and have hands-on experience with analytical techniques, including thermal analysis (TGA/DSC), IR spectroscopy, FTIR, and chromatography (GC/LC). Additional knowledge in surface analysis (e.g., XPS, Raman), particle characterization, or polymer chemistry would be highly regarded. Previous experience in the development or analysis of materials for electrochemical applications, such as catalysts, membranes, or electrodes, is beneficial.
Key Skills and Requirements (for both roles):
Ability to interpret results accurately and prepare comprehensive technical reports.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure precise experimental setup and data recording.
Proven track record of working in fast-paced analytical or research laboratories.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and critical thinking to troubleshoot and optimize experiments.
Following safety protocols and maintaining laboratory best practices.
Experience with laboratory software
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
