Your keen eye for detail will be crucial in overseeing daily operations, from monitoring overdue accounts to approving customer credit limits. Your ability to build strong relationships will come into play as you liaise with customers to resolve issues and maintain open lines of communication. Compliance is key in this role; you’ll ensure adherence to company policies while also identifying areas for improvement within the process. This role offers a unique blend of leadership, financial management, and customer relationship building.
*Lead, mentor, and manage a team of credit controllers, providing guidance and support.
*Oversee the day-to-day management of the credit control process, ensuring all outstanding invoices are followed up on in a timely manner.
*Monitor overdue accounts, ensuring that payment terms are adhered to and liaising with customers to resolve issues.
*Approve customer credit limits and payment terms in consultation with senior management and the finance team.
*Prepare and present regular reports on the status of outstanding debts, cash flow forecasts, and collection activities.
*Build and maintain strong working relationships with key customers, ensuring effective communication regarding payment terms, overdue invoices, and disputes.
*Ensure compliance with company credit policies and financial regulations.
*Proactively identify areas for improvement within the credit control process and recommend solutions.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Credit Control Supervisor position brings a strong understanding of financial and accounting principles, particularly in credit control. Your excellent communication skills will be essential for building relationships with customers and negotiating payment terms. You’ll need to be highly organised, able to prioritise tasks effectively and meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with accounting software such as Sage, SAP, or Xero is required. Knowledge of credit risk management and legal recovery procedures will be beneficial. Attention to detail and accuracy are crucial in this role, as is previous leadership and team management experience. While not essential, a professional qualification in accounting or finance would be advantageous.
