Job Description:
RM Recruit is pleased to partner with a reputable academy based in Birmingham, seeking a full-time Finance Officer to join their team on a permanent basis. This office-based role, Monday to Friday, offers a great opportunity for individuals looking to advance their finance career within a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as the primary point of contact for all incoming queries, both verbal and written, ensuring timely and appropriate responses
*Process and manage supplier invoices, ensuring they are accurately matched with purchase orders and receipts.
*Maintain and update supplier records, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date.
*Assist in managing payment runs, ensuring payments are made in line with agreed terms and within deadlines.
*Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
*Assist with month-end procedures, including posting accruals and reconciling accounts.
*Respond to supplier queries and work closely with internal departments to resolve any issues efficiently.
*Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with company procedures and accounting standards.
* Proactively build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business to ensure smooth communication and collaboration.

*Process purchase orders from requisitions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with agreed authorisation processes and timelines.
*Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the wider finance team in day-to-day operations.
Desired Knowledge and Experience:
* Familiarity with Iris Financials
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work well within a team
*Previous experience in purchase ledger management.
*A background in finance within the education sector is highly desirable.
