Interim Commercial Contracts Lawyer – initial 3 months – East of England Local Authority – up to £55 per hour Umbrella
Working Arrangement: Remote working with occasional office attendance is preferred but non-essential
Contract Type: Initial 3 months with possible extension, Full Time hours
Rate: Up to £55 per hour Umbrella
The Opportunity
An experienced Commercial Contracts Lawyer is required to join a local authority on an interim basis. This role involves managing a varied caseload of contract and procurement matters, providing expert legal advice, and supporting key projects to achieve corporate objectives.
Key Responsibilities
*Handle complex contract and procurement matters, including drafting and negotiation.
*Provide clear, accurate legal advice to officers and elected Members.
*Attend meetings to offer legal guidance on contract and procurement law.
*Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and update standard documentation.
Requirements
*Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEx with a current practising certificate.
*Strong experience in contract and procurement law, preferably within local government.
*Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
*Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure.
