This position plays a key role in bringing in and building good relationships with major retail groups. The tasks involved will focus on enhancing the reputation of the company in the market by developing and strengthening senior relationships within UK’s leading retailers. A critical element to this role is identifying and implementing opportunities to work with our customers to establish synergies within the UK & IE, along with feeding key trends back to the business. This will ensure agility and relevance in our market approach. This role works to optimise supply chain costs and develop potential revenue streams for the company and retailers in addition to working with internal stakeholder in order to ensure asset recovery is maximised. Managing transactional relationships using business reviews to showcase KPI’s is a priority for this role.
The successful candidates will have extensive experience within a fast paced, logistics environment and you will have proven ability to be able to win, build and maintain strong, positive relationships via effective communication. You will be an inquisitive individual who asks relevant, supply chain questions in order to drive value. You will have the ability to analyse and assess situations quickly and effectively to reach an appropriate and timely solution to complex issues, which may include the need for difficult conversations. You will have demonstrable experience in data analysis to drive results, in addition to the ability to use this information to work with other team members in order to achieve high standards of service. You will have a commercially aware perspective and understand the importance of market trends on business performance. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Asset recovery
* Ensure retailers take responsibility for compliance with our processes.
* Working across various teams to ensure a good level of assets are recovered from retail environments.
* Engage with relevant projects to improve recovery of assets.
Relationship Management
* Create and maintain a full bespoke account plan for each retailer, identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
* Operate as the first point of contact for retailers, manage all communication internally and externally to arrive at the desired result.
* Attend relevant networking events to build presence in the market and understanding FMCG from an operational point of view.
* Work in partnership with other team members to deliver a high standard of service which promotes positive relationships.
Collaboration
* Finding and executing ways to reduce costs by collaboration with retailers - both transport and depot.
* Identify, quantify and propose business opportunities for revenue growth or retail partnerships.
* Investigate areas for cost reduction across the supply chain and deliver findings internally.
Sales
* Identify opportunities to gain new business with retailers and action accordingly with Head of Sales.
* Design and deliver strategic plans that create sustainable business value and enhance competitive advantage.
* Establish effective senior relationships.
Account Management
* Implement appropriate strategic plans to support growth, dispute resolution, equipment control, process improvement and equipment quality.
* Report periodically on key performance indicators and KPI’s with a focus on the customer, both internally and externally.
* Develop the use of Power BI to showcase KPI’s.
* Coordinate and manage any contractual obligations that are required.
Education/Qualifications
* Educated to Degree Level (or equivalent experience).
* Extensive experience in retail or FMCG supply chain or operations.
* Advanced Excel, CRM, Microsoft Suite and Power BI knowledge
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to work autonomously and prioritise tasks appropriately.
* Ability to build strong working relationships at all levels.
* Able to demonstrate individual accountability.
