Job Description:
Job Title: Technical Support Engineer - Training & Development Specialist (ETCS)
Location: Remote
Duration: 6 months (FTC)

We are currently recruiting for an ETCS Freight Training & Development Specialist for a fully remote, 6-month fixed-term contract position.

Your main duties will be to develop and deliver learning/training solutions for both operator and maintainer.

You will need to apply your existing experience to delivering the ETCS training material to ensure key business deliverables are achieved.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

* To develop and deliver learning / training solutions for both operator and maintainer using a combined approach to external staff.
* Responsible for the creation of new course material, the update of existing material and developing requirement and story boards for e-learning.
* Ensure solutions are delivered in accordance with safety and quality procedures and meet all applicable legislation, safety/customer standards and project requirements.
* Work with the relevant professional groups / departments to carry out technical assessments where required.
* Support the Freight Onboard project in delivering the agreed training requirements
* Collaboration with internal and external customers to identify and deliver the training requirements for their area of responsibility.
* Develop a relationship with the customer that provides a stable foundation for future business opportunities.
* Implement safe systems and controls within your area of responsibility
* Understand, implement and comply with the Rolling Stock, Rail infrastructure policies and procedures.
* Communicate health and safety responsibilities to your team (or virtual team) and ensure employees raise issues and participate in implementation of agreed changes.
* Fully participate and engage in behavioural safety agenda to ensure you and your team work safely.
* Engage with HSQE team to agree targets and priorities to communicate and cascade to team.
* Continuously develop cross functional and departmental processes.
* Monitor compliance to meet internal control procedures and take appropriate corrective action.

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

* Be educated to HNC level in a STEM subject.
* Knowledge of ETCS principles.
* Knowledge of locomotive operations and maintenance.
* Experience in developing training material and supporting development of training strategies.
* The ability to write and review course material.
* Ability to be trained in related field of expertise.
* Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with customers at all levels.
* Excellent communication skills and influencing skills.
* Good presentation skills.
* Experience with video processing and transmission systems.
* Awareness of safety critical working.

Preferred:

* Be able to teach aspects of onboard ETCS signalling systems.
* Experience with application of distributed systems or control system networks.
* Cybersecurity.
* CIPD Training and Development qualification or equivalent experience.
