An amazing specialist school in the heart of Wokingham are on the hunt for a Mental Health Support Assistant to join their team starting ASAP.
The school hiring a Mental Health Support Assistant:
*An amazing specialist school, highly regarded in their area
*Cater for children who have been diagnosed with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH)
*They focus on helping these children access their education in the same way as their mainstream peers
*Each child has an individualised plan and curriculum
*They facilitate and focus on providing specialist education, where educators and the multi-disciplinary team provide personalised and specific interventions to support learning
*This school offer a supportive environment where you will be making a difference day in and out
*Not only will you be taking part in really rewarding work, you will also be adding valuable experience to your CV
What the role as a Mental Health Support Assistant entails:
*You will be facilitating and providing specific interventions to aid in the children’s learning
*You will facilitate a safe and secure environment for learning to take place
*You will encourage students to achieve the best they can academically, while also adding to their personal growth
*You will keep track of their academic achievements
*Have a good understanding of the importance of safeguarding
Qualities you will need to be a great Mental Health Support Assistant:
*Being kind, caring and compassionate
*Having a determination to make a difference in the lives of the students
*Be patient and willing to adapt your approach to meet the needs of the students
*Experience working with children and especially children with SEN will be advantageous but not essential
*You will need an enhanced DBS check, but don’t worry if you don’t have one, we can facilitate your application
