Job Opportunity: Production Planner
Butler Rose are delighted to have been exclusively appointed on behalf of our client, a well-respected manufacturer in East Devon, to recruit for the role of Production Planner. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and analytical individual to join a manufacturing team, and have the chance to work in a very interesting field of manufacturing.
In this role, you will take responsibility for planning multiple weekly production schedules, extracting and analysing data to provide statistical insights, and supporting teams to make informed decisions. Your work will be pivotal in ensuring goods are produced on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
*Review and analyse production metrics to identify trends and support strategic business decisions.
*Collect, review, and interpret departmental reports to track progress against goals and objectives.
*Provide data and analytical support to department leaders as required.
*Collaborate with production teams and system developers to execute effective solutions tailored to business needs.
*Participate in project teams, supplying key data and metrics for review and evaluation, including ROI analysis.
*Monitor and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
*Plan and prioritise operations to optimise performance and minimise delays.
*Assess manpower, equipment, and materials to meet production demands effectively.
*Track jobs using Operational Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) metrics to ensure deadlines and budgets are met.
*Work closely with managers and supervisors to address any issues swiftly to minimise disruption.
*Support and influence change initiatives, encouraging a collaborative and solution-focused approach.
*Engage with internal and external stakeholders to streamline processes and reduce bottlenecks.
To be chosen for the role:
This role requires someone who is forward-thinking, data-driven, and collaborative. To succeed, you’ll need:
*Demonstrable experience with ERP/MRP systems
*Background in production planning and scheduling, using data to inform decisions.
*Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
*Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
*A solid understanding of LEAN manufacturing principles.
*Strong analytical skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly.
*Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a team-oriented mindset.
*Proven ability to manage and adapt to change, supporting both yourself and others through transitions.
