Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Technician) c44k

As Mechanical Maintenance Engineering Technician you will join a strong maintenance team, as part of the manufacturing facility of a global organisation. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the role of Mechanical Maintenance Technician will be required to provide maintenance services to the sites production team, ensuring maximum plant up time.
As a mechanical technician / fitter this role incorporates planned preventative maintenance, maintenance inspections, corrective maintenance and continuous improvement projects. As a maintenance technician you must be able to demonstrate a good level of competence in welding and fabrication, pneumatic & hydraulic control systems, maintain conveyors systems, screw feeders, lean & dense phase conveying systems and automated process control; you will demonstrate a good aptitude for fault finding and rectification.
As part of a small team and on your own initiative; providing assistance across functions if required also on occasion assisting with electrical maintenance team, in a sustainable and safe way.
Key Responsibilities
*Monitor plants performance and condition to identify potential breakdowns before they occur, ensuring that any required actions are correctly reported.
*To operate within the maintenance schedule, ensuring consistent maintenance of all plant across the site.
*Be actively involved in new plant installations/modifications from the design stage through to final commissioning.
*To work with the site management team to ensure that all current plant operates to its full capacity.
*To ensure all safety checks are completed and any maintenance required is logged, reported and remedial action taken.
*To be part of a Rota providing an on-call service to the site.
*Ensure that all tools and equipment are properly maintained and kept in a clean and tidy condition.
*To apply the Health, Safety & Environmental Policy
Qualifications and Skills
*Background in Mechanical Engineering / maintenance or similar e.g. HNC/HND with a Mechanical Engineering bias; basic electrical experience would also be an advantage.
*Plant site mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing facility, preferably materials or chemical / pharma / FMCG, construction etc manufacturing site
*Pro-active approach to Health & Safety, and importantly a high level of process safety is essential
*Certified to 3268 welding skills or equivalent.
*Certified competence for pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.
*Be able to demonstrate compliance with relevant Health & Safety legislation.
