Position Overview
As the Accounts Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the company’s financial operations and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Working closely with external accountants and managing a small internal team, you will be responsible for a wide range of financial processes, from preparing statutory accounts and tax returns to managing the sales and purchase ledgers, processing payroll, and preparing audit packs. Your expertise and attention to detail will be essential in maintaining the financial health and success of this well-established property management company.
Responsibilities
You will responsible for training and mentoring the newly-hired Finance Executive and you will be responsible for reviewing and providing support where needed in the following areas:
*Work with external accountants to prepare and file statutory accounts and related tax returns, including CT61, VAT returns, and Non-Resident Landlord returns
*Manage and support the Sales Ledger Clerk and Purchase Ledger Clerk, reviewing their work on debtor and creditor reports, credit card reconciliations, and weekly payment reports
*Conduct monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, deposits, client reports, operating reports, and intercompany expenses
*Process payroll using information provided by external accountants
*Handle fixed assets, prepayments, loan interest reconciliations, depreciation, and accruals
*Ensure correct allocation of revenue and capital expenses
*Perform rent variance analysis and cost of sales analysis
*Ensure compliance with AML and Client Money Protect regulations
*Prepare audit packs for external auditors
Requirements
*Strong experience working with residential and commercial property companies
*Proven track record in reviewing bookkeeping and managing financial processes
*Excellent communication skills
*Working knowledge of CT61 section 455 and Director Loan accounts
*Proficiency in using Xero accounting software
*Experience preparing audit packs for external auditors
*Previous experience in an accountancy practice serving property companies is a plus
