Job Description:
**Residential Support Worker - Learning Disabilities** At Horizon Care and Education, we provide high quality care to the children living in our homes. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an experienced team in a therapeutically informed home for children with complex social and emotional needsLearning Disabilities. Our unique SHINE (Supporting Healing In Nurturing Environments) Therapeutic Model will allow you to develop your practice using PACE and psychologically-informed trauma-responsive approaches to care. **About the role:** - Helping young people continue with hobbies, social activities, and friendships, and learn new skills. - Providing support with morning routines such as getting ready for school and making sure they have a good breakfast. - Preparing evening meals and ensuring the young person has a safe space to relax and unwind within the home. - You will need to be open to working in a reflective manner and deliver relationship-based, person centred care as part of a small team. This will involve a combination of day, evening, night, weekend, and bank holiday working. - You will work in partnership with parents and other professionals and so you will need a good range of communication skills. **SkillsExperience:** - You must have the appropriate skills and experience to perform and work within an environment that can at times require using your own initiative. - You must hold or be already working towards or be willing to undertake and complete within 2 years of starting work at the home the Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England). OR you should hold an equivalent qualification such as The NVQ 3 caring for children & young people and be prepared to complete any additional work to meet the required level.
