Teaching Assistant
*Area- Selly Oak, Birmingham, B29
*Day Rate-£90-£105
*Days- Monday - Friday (Term Time Only)
*Hours- 8:30am to 3:30pm
*Start- ASAP
*Contract- Long Term Temp to Perm
LTF Recruitment are searching for a proactive teaching assistant to join our primary school in the Selly Oak area. The successful candidate will support the teaching and learning of children in a year six class alongside the class teacher. This role is offered on a long-term basis with the potential to become permanent for the successful candidate.
The Role:
*Assist the class teacher in planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons.
*Support pupils with their transition to secondary school, including promoting readiness and independence.
*Support pupils with their preparation for SATs, including administering practice tests and delivering targeted interventions in maths, reading, and writing.
*Monitor and record pupil’s progress, providing feedback to the teacher and parents as required.
*Encourage positive behaviour and manage challenging situations in line with school policies.
*Provide emotional and social support to pupils, fostering confidence and self-esteem.
*Supervise pupils during break times, excursions, and other school activities.
*Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to support SEN or EAL pupils.
The Applicant:
*Level 3 Supporting teaching and learning in schools or equivalent.
*Previous experience (At least 1 year) of working in a primary school.
*Experience of supporting children with SEN
*Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and working with challenging behaviour
*Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
*Knowledge or experience of pupils with SEN
