Job Description:
Robert Half is delighted to be partnering with a leading US-listed technology business to recruit a Technical Financial Controller for their Burton-on-Trent site. This is a newly created, high-profile role designed to support the company’s rapid growth and strategic initiatives in the UK. This position is ideal for a highly motivated financial professional seeking a unique opportunity to step into industry, offering exposure to complex technical finance issues, extensive project involvement, and direct access to senior executives, including the CFO.
The position is a hybrid role, requiring three days a week in the Burton-on-Trent office, providing the flexibility to work remotely for the remainder of the week.
Key Responsibilities
*Technical Financial Reporting: Oversee and manage technical accounting matters, especially related to software capitalisation, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and relevant reporting standards.
*Financial Controls: Develop and maintain strong financial controls to support corporate governance, risk management, and compliance objectives within the business.
*Project Involvement: Collaborate on cross-functional projects involving financial data analysis, process improvements, and strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing financial performance.
*Audit Liaison: Act as the primary liaison for external auditors, ensuring timely and accurate reporting and facilitating a smooth audit process.
*Executive Exposure: Provide technical accounting insight to the CFO and executive team, helping to drive decision-making and financial strategy.
*Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with departments across the business, including finance, technology, and operations, to ensure alignment on financial objectives and reporting.

*Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with strong technical accounting skills.
*Auditing Experience with US-listed Companies: Candidates from a Top 10 accounting firm who have audited large, complex US-listed businesses are ideally suited to this role.
*Software Capitalisation: Familiarity with software capitalisation processes is highly desirable.
*Analytical Skills: Strong financial analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work on projects and manage deadlines in a dynamic environment.
*Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence to engage with senior stakeholders and present complex information clearly.
