Your new role
My client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Hydrologist to join their dynamic team. You will play a key role in managing and delivering hydrological projects, providing expert advice, and contributing to the development of innovative solutions to water-related challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
*Lead and manage hydrological studies and projects, including flood risk assessments, water resource management, and environmental impact assessments.
*Develop and apply hydrological models to simulate water flow and quality in various environments.
*Analyse and interpret hydrological data to inform decision-making and policy development.
*Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for clients and stakeholders.
*Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, environmental scientists, and planners.
*Conduct site visits as necessary.
*Provide mentorship and guidance to junior hydrologists and other team members.
*Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in hydrology and related fields.
What you’ll need to succeed
*Bachelor’s degree in Hydrology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
*Consultancy experience in hydrology or a related field.
*Strong knowledge of hydrological modeling software and GIS applications.
*Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
*Proven ability to manage projects and lead teams.
*Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Ideally, chartered status with a relevant professional body (e.g., CIWEM, ICE).
*Knowledge of UK water legislation and policies.
