Location: Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands
Start Date: January 2024
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Are you an experienced SENCO looking for an exciting new challenge? A well-regarded secondary school in Sutton Coldfield is seeking a dedicated and passionate SENCO to join their team from January 2024. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and shape the school’s SEN provision, ensuring every student has the support they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities: *Lead and manage the school’s SEND provision, ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice.
*Develop, implement, and monitor strategies to support students with additional needs.
*Collaborate with staff, parents, and external agencies to create tailored support plans.
*Oversee the assessment and identification of SEND students, ensuring appropriate interventions.
*Provide training and support to teaching staff on best practices for inclusive education.
*Manage the SEND budget and resources effectively.
Essential Requirements: *Hold the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or equivalent qualification.
*Demonstrable experience as a SENCO or in a leadership role within SEN.
*Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, including the SEND Code of Practice.
*Proven track record of improving outcomes for students with SEND.
*Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Desirable Attributes: *Experience in a secondary school setting.
*Ability to work collaboratively and foster a culture of inclusion and high expectations.
*Passion for innovation and continuous improvement in SEND provision.
