Quantity Surveyor with Drylining background
We are working with one of the UK’s leading family run drylining contractors who deliver projects of various size throughout the UK. With over 40 years in the industry, the company has gone from strength to strength rapidly building up a portfolio of large-scale health, residential, student accommodation and education projects. In doing so, they have worked alongside a number of leading main contractors and have gained an excellent reputation for delivering high quality projects.
Due to sustained growth and an increased workload, our client are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to propel the business forward commercially. The ideal candidate will become a key player in delivering various projects across Manchester, Newcastle and the Yorkshire region.
As a Quantity Surveyor, your duties and responsibilities will include:
*Offer commercial and contractual expertise across Drylining packages of varying scales, encompassing cost estimation, procurement, and contract management.
*Develop and monitor project budgets, cost forecasts, and cash flow projections, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and value engineering improvements.
*Perform detailed cost analysis and deliver accurate, timely cost reports to stakeholders, highlighting discrepancies and recommending corrective measures when necessary.
*Supervise the procurement process, including the selection, negotiation, and awarding of subcontractor contracts, ensuring adherence to company policies and standards.
*Work closely with the project team to manage commercial risks, resolve conflicts, and ensure compliance with contractual commitments.
*Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, representing the company with professionalism and fostering a cooperative work environment.
*Lead and mentor junior members of the quantity surveying team, offering guidance to support their growth and professional advancement.
