Job Description:
The General Dental Council (GDC) is recruiting for a People/HR Coordinator to join our team on a full-time, fixed Term contract – 13 months maternity cover. This role is Hybrid – minimum 2 days in the office, 3 days working from home. In return you will receive a competitive salary of £27,095 - £31,876 per annum.
About us:
Our purpose is to protect the public by regulating dental professionals in the UK. All dentists, dental nurses, dental technicians, clinical dental technicians, dental hygienists, dental therapists and orthodontic therapists must be registered with us to work in the UK. The support and experience of our dedicated and highly focused teams is invaluable. This is your chance to build on your own skills and experience and make a worthwhile contribution to our work.
The GDC is committed to equality and diversity. We encourage and support the recruitment, retention and career development of people from as wide a range as possible of ethnic, cultural and social backgrounds. The people we interact with daily are incredibly diverse and we know how much of an asset empathy is to the way we operate. Your skills and expertise in equality and diversity, either as lived experience or as an ally, will be incredibly helpful in adding to the effectiveness of the team.
About the role of People/HR Coordinator:
Are you a highly organised “people person”, who is looking to join a professional and friendly team? If so, read on!
We are looking for a People Coordinator to provide effective, customer focused coordination of administration and systems for all stages of the workforce lifecycle (employees and associates). The People Services team has ambitious plans, and this role will support the team in delivering the vision of putting people at the heart of everything we do.
About you:
You will have experience of providing high-quality administrative support in a busy and challenging environment, preferably within HR. You will be highly proactive with a friendly and professional approach. You will also be a self-starter and confident, with the ability to use your initiative to anticipate the People Services team’s needs without a high level of instruction. You will have excellent written communication skills including the ability to produce emails, letters, minutes, and reports that are accurate and in an appropriate style.
You will be highly organised and comfortable with multi-tasking and prioritising to manage a busy workload and meet competing deadlines, including managing shared e-mail inboxes. You will be proficient in the use of data-based systems with the ability to generate reports. You will be able to act with diplomacy and discretion and to always safeguard confidential and sensitive information.
The role will also represent the GDC positively and professionally and provide first response to external and internal queries, providing advice on people issues as appropriate.
Benefits:
To reward you for your hard work and commitment, we offer a flexible hybrid working environment as well as an attractive benefits package that includes:
*Pension contributions up to 10%.
*25 days’ annual leave (plus bank holidays), rising to 28 after 2 years’ service.
*Life assurance and income protection.
*Staff discounts, including discounted gym membership and eye care contributions.
