Job Description:
Are you looking for an administrative role in a Higher Education setting? Do you have a methodical approach with good organisation and excellent communication skills? If so, Signature Recruitment has an exciting opportunity for you to join our client, at a prestigious London university, as an Assessments Officer. This role is a full-time, two-year fixed term contract. It is offered on a hybrid working arrangement with three days on campus and two from home.
As an Assessments Officer, you will play an important role within the Assessment Team leading day-to-day administrative tasks. You will use your experience in student support to manage high volumes of queries and your ability to resolve these in a personable and professional manner will be essential. In addition, you will coordinate and implement processes that ensure the prompt and accurate operation of student assessments, examinations, progression and awards.
Assessment Officer Key Responsibilities:
*Managing the team’s inboxes, assisting with high volume shared inboxes, email triage and responding to student queries effectively and efficiently
*Resolving student and academic inquiries always providing an excellent level of customer service and signposting as necessary
*Contributing to the student journey within the assessment processes. To include liaising with exam venues, invigilators, exam paper production, alternative assessments and special arrangements, processing student appeals, alleged academic misconduct, servicing of exam boards, dealing with results, re-sits and progression and the production of certificates and transcripts
*Updating and maintaining student records and information including the ability to extrapolate data, data trends and produce reports
*Liaising with academic departments, central services and external agencies regarding policies, procedures and regulations. Showing a good understanding of these and assisting with the development and maintenance of user-friendly guidance for students, staff and academics
*Providing other ad hoc administrative tasks in order to support the Assessment Team and wider university including assisting with events within the student lifecycle such as Enrolment, Graduation
Assessment Officer Key Skills:
*Experience in an administrative role within a higher education setting showing an ability to work independently and with initiative
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong emphasis on exceptional customer service with an ability to work well with stakeholders at all levels
*A positive, proactive approach with excellent time management, organisational skills and attention to detail
*Highly proficient in IT systems including Microsoft as well as student records systems and virtual learning environments
