Job Title: Finance Analyst (HRA)
Location: Hybrid (London-based)
Rate:£450+ per day
Duration: Ongoing Contract
Ambient People is recruiting an interim HRA Finance Analyst for a London Borough. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team, supporting the delivery of high-quality housing services.
Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Finance Analyst to join thier team. In this role, you will be supporting the HRA Senior Finance Analyst, contributing to a variety of financial tasks, and ensuring that financial processes, reports, and strategies align with both statutory requirements and organisational goals. This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility while ensuring strong collaboration with internal and external teams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contribute to the preparation of the HRA annual statement of accounts and accompanying notes. Address subsequent audit queries and ensure compliance with all audit requirements.
* Perform regular reconciliations (bank, balance sheet, etc.) to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial balances.
* Support the service in the annual housing rent setting and tenants’ service charge reviews, ensuring alignment with budget and policy.
* Assist in the development and regular monitoring of the HRA Business Plan. Help prepare HRA budgets and provide ongoing analysis to ensure financial targets are met.
* Collate and review financial data for various statutory housing returns
* Monitor budget positions regularly and advise on corrective actions where necessary to manage overspends or ensure efficient use of resources.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
* Provide clear and insightful financial support to budget managers, presenting financial data, and assisting with financial forecasting and variance analysis.
* Support various projects with financial implications, assist in identifying funding sources for new initiatives, and help prepare bidding documentation.
* Support the annual closure of accounts, ensuring all statutory deadlines are met and all required reports are submitted.
* Assist in reviewing development schemes and assessing their financial viability and value for money.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a finance-related role, ideally within local government or housing finance, with a strong understanding of HRA accounts and financial management processes.
* Strong analytical, reconciliation, and financial modelling skills. Experience with budget forecasting, variance analysis, and preparing statutory returns.
