We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Shift Clerk to join our Customs Insights team in Dover. As a Senior Shift Clerk, you will play a crucial role in overseeing our customs clearance operations and ensuring smooth and efficient processes.
Please note this role is a shift pattern of 4 on 4 off (Day 1 & 2 0700 – 1900 Day 3 & 4 1900 – 0700)
Key Responsibilities:
*Supervising a shift team in the absence of the shift supervisor
*Ensuring all tasks assigned to the shift team are completed in a compliant manner
*Completing daily customs clearance work
*Assisting customs clerks with paperwork completion
*Processing amendments and correspondence to customs
*Completing excise declarations
*Supporting other operational duties as required
What we’re looking for:
*Minimum 2 years experience
*In-depth knowledge of customs procedures and principles
*Strong proficiency in Excel spreadsheets
*Experience with customs clearance software
*Excellent IT literacy
*Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
*Strong attention to detail and a conscientious approach
*Team player with excellent communication skills
*Problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset
