Job Opportunity: Buyer – Retail Sector
Location: Barnsley
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum
Elevation Recruitment Group is excited to partner with a thriving retail business in Barnsley to recruit a Buyer who will play a pivotal role in driving the procurement strategy and delivering value to the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional looking to make an impact in a dynamic and fast-paced retail environment.
The Role As a Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships to ensure optimal cost, quality, and service. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will have a direct influence on the success of the business by ensuring the availability of key products and aligning procurement strategies with commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities *Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to meet business needs.
*Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers, ensuring favourable outcomes for the business.
*Manage supplier relationships to ensure consistent quality and on-time delivery.
*Conduct market analysis to identify new sourcing opportunities and cost-saving initiatives.
*Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including sales and operations teams, to forecast demand and ensure stock availability.
*Monitor supplier performance and address any issues proactively.
*Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with company policies.
About You To succeed in this role, you will be a results-driven individual with a passion for delivering value. We are looking for someone with:
*Proven experience in a Buyer role, ideally within the retail or FMCG sector.
*Strong negotiation skills and a track record of securing favourable terms.
*Excellent relationship management and communication skills.
*Commercial acumen with the ability to align procurement activities with business goals.
*Analytical skills to assess supplier performance and market trends.
*Knowledge of procurement software and systems is a plus.
