Job Description:
Management Accountant
Search are seeking a skilled and motivated Newly or Part-QualifiedManagement Accountant to join our client’s growing business. You will be joining an events company where it offers the opportunity to manage the financial controls and forecasts for the company, while playing a pivotal role in budget development, financial reporting, and analysis. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the production of monthly management accounts, as well as year-end financial statements. This role will also involve managing an apprentice accountant, with direct reporting to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for overseeing and managing the finance department, ensuring that all financial operations adhere to UK regulatory requirements and internal policies. This will include ensuring the accurate and timely submission of VAT returns, as well as compliance with other relevant statutory filings. You will collaborate closely with external accountants to prepare the company’s annual financial accounts, ensuring their accuracy and alignment with regulatory standards.
You will maintain and update accurate cash flow forecasts to ensure the company’s financial stability. You will be required to develop and manage comprehensive financial forecasts and department budgets. Also, analyse budgetary discrepancies and propose corrective actions to ensure financial goals are met. Supervise and mentor the apprentice accountant, providing guidance and support in their development.
Experience & Skills Required
* Proven experience in developing and managing accurate financial forecasts and department budgets.
* Strong ability to analyse financial discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
* Experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous but not required.
* Strong knowledge of management accounting principles and financial management practices.
* Familiarity with Xero is desirable but not essential.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
* Ability to discuss complex financial matters with senior management and external advisers.
* A meticulous attention to detail with a strong commitment to maintaining high-quality financial standards.
* Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
* Experience with export sales is a distinct advantage.
