Job Description:
Main Duties:
*Audit of a large range of corporate clients including groups and overseas subsidiaries
*Reporting directly to partners and liaising with other managers as required
*Planning, supervision and review of audit and accounts cases including preparing notes for partners
*Main point of contact with clients and liaising with clients both face to face and on the phone/video- link/email on day to day issues
*Assisting staff with technical accounting and auditing problems
*Identifying and capitalising on opportunities and prospects for new work
*Delivering confident and clear presentations of service features and benefits to clients
*Assessing and producing high quality work in line with the Firm’s policy and processes, meeting relevant regulatory requirements
*Taking ownership of projects, effectively delegating to others within the team and taking responsibility for quality control.
Actively seeking to enhance expertise and knowledge
*Developing the audit function in Milton Keynes and synchronising with the other offices
*Supervision and development of staff and providing leadership to the department
*Assisting in preparation and delivery of pitches for new clients
*Billing and monitoring actual costs against budgets and reporting to partners on variances
*Drafting bills on a monthly basis for review by partners
*Liaising with the Corporate Business Tax department in relation to the preparation and review of corporation tax computations
Requirements:
*Relevant privately owned business sector audit experience
*Up to date technical knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS102 and IFRS
*Strong knowledge of accounting and auditing
*A working knowledge of accounting software
*Able to deal confidently and effectively with clients, staff and partners
*Able to provide on the job training for staff as appropriate
*Able to multi-task
*Self-starter who looks for solutions and makes recommendations
*Strong written and oral communication skills are essential
*Proven managerial skills and experience
*Confident in marketing, networking and pitching to potential clients
*A passion to become part of a growing team and help to promote the technical expertise of the team and increase its profile both internally and externally
*Maintaining control and stability under pressure whilst recognising the deadline or urgency
*3 years experience in a managerial position
*ACA or ACCA qualified
