Job Description:
Award winning furniture manufacturing company is seeking an experienced and capable Operations Manager to run all manufacturing. With 100+ employees on site in this very successful division, and growing, this is a great opportunity for the right person to become Manufacturing Director within 2 years.
Operations Manager - Key responsibilities - Engineering / Lean / CI / High volume / Manufacturing Manager
- Ensure daily/weekly/monthly production targets are met
- Continually assess production areas for improvements to efficiency and cost effectiveness
- Direct and mentor Supervisory staff
- Ensure adherence to H&S policies and procedures
- Develop and implement KPIs for departmental Supervisors
- Assess training needs and action where necessary
- Ensure a CI/Lean culture is promoted and utilise Lean techniques wherever required
- Training and development of the team to realise full potential
- Work with MRP and supply chain on forecasting and Capacity
- Deliver new products into the manufacturing area by working with Product Development teams
- Research new suppliers where necessary to reduce cost or increase quality of components
Operations Manager - Skills and Abilities - Engineering, Lean, CI, High volume, Manufacturing Manager
- Experienced in high volume manufacturing
- Previous experience at Operations / Production / Manufacturing Manager level
- CI/Lean experience
- Excellent people skills
- IT Literate with a good level of capability with common MS Office package
- Engineering background an advantage
