Are you an experienced GM Buyer with a passion for fast-paced retail and a knack for sourcing quality products across categories like DIY, Paint, Home, Textiles, or Tools?
We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading retailer in Leicester for an immediate start or short notice period. The role is 5 days per week in the office.
Key Responsibilities: *Develop and execute category strategies for General Merchandise, ensuring alignment with the retailer’s overall goals.
*Negotiate and manage supplier relationships to secure the best terms on cost, quality, and delivery.
*Analyze market trends and consumer needs to identify opportunities for product development and range optimization.
*Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth product launches and promotions.
*Monitor category performance, managing budgets and KPIs to drive profitability and growth.
What We’re Looking For: *Experience in Buying within the DIY, Paint, Home, Textiles, Tools, or similar categories.
*Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.
*Strong negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
*Ability to work autonomously and deliver results under tight deadlines.
*Must be immediately available or on a short notice period.
