Job Description:
Mechanical Fitter
Location: Liverpool
Salary: £35,000-£42,000
Hours: Monday – Thursday
Join a growing Mechanical Assembly team to work on projects from mechanical handover through to completion, including occasional installations at client sites. You’ll be responsible for assembling and fitting mechanical components for bespoke process equipment, including pressure vessels and rotating equipment like agitators, gearboxes, and motors. Experience with hydraulic systems is a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
*Manage mechanical build documentation.
*Assemble and fit mechanical components with tight tolerances.
*Collaborate with a multi-skilled team and Electrical/Control engineers.
*Resolve issues related to fit, function, or design with engineering.
*Inspect mechanical parts, main fabrications, and pressure vessels at supplier facilities.
*Ensure safety and health standards are met.
*Report non-conformances via quality systems.
*Support the Production team and provide regular contract updates.
*Assist with off-site installations at customer sites.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
*Time-served mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
*Experience in a similar role.
*Pressure vessel testing experience (desirable).
*Keen eye for detail.
*Strong problem-solving skills.
*Excellent communication skills.
*Ability to read and understand assembly drawings.
Working Conditions:
*Based mainly in the Assembly area.
*International travel required.
*Possible evening and weekend work, shift work according to client site hours.
*Work with challenging clients.
