Job Description:
Logistics Operator/Planner European & UK Domestic
Key Responsibilities: *Coordinate planning for UK domestic vehicle operations.
*Schedule European delivery and collection activities.
*Strategically plan load assignments to optimize business returns.
*Uphold exceptional service standards for clients.
*Input consignment details into relevant systems.
*Oversee relationships with internal fleet teams and external suppliers.
Main Duties: *Collaborate with the European Department team to ensure seamless delivery and collection operations.
*Process job bookings and manifests in the FMS system.
*Report discrepancies to the appropriate European operations personnel.
*Address and resolve driver issues or escalate them to the relevant department.
*Provide professional and courteous client support regarding consignment inquiries.
*Prepare client quotations based on approved tariffs.
*Assign and upload proof of delivery (POD) documents to the system.
*Assist the warehouse with freight identification challenges.
*Escalate operational concerns respectfully to relevant teams.
*Efficiently plan domestic vehicle deliveries and brief drivers.
*Generate and distribute daily run sheets.
*Ensure vehicles operate for maximum profitability.
*Enforce UK driver’s hours regulations compliance.
*Understand load capacities and vehicle restrictions to ensure operational efficiency.
*Accurately and efficiently manage file charges.
*Implement and promote continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
*Expand and maintain the approved supplier network.
*Collaborate with internal compliance teams to maintain process adherence.
Person Specification: Experience:
*Minimum of 2 years in a comparable role within the Transport/Logistics sector.
*Proven expertise in logistics planning and coordination.
Skills & Competencies:
*Strong analytical abilities for data interpretation and informed decision-making.
*Proficiency in logistics systems and relevant software.
*Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with a keen eye for detail.
*Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective teamwork.
*A proactive mindset focused on problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Working Conditions: *Standard operating hours: 09:00 – 17:30.
*Flexibility in working hours is essential to cover business needs during holidays or staff absences, with potential early starts or late finishes.
*Lunch break: Up to 1 hour.
*Typical weekly working hours: 40 hours.
