Job Description:
Reed recruitment have recently partnered up with a business who are looking to add an accounts manager to their finance function. The right candidate will demonstrate previous experience in a similar position and have the below experience.
The role involves supervising the accounts team responsible for processing supplier payments for various services, including materials, repairs, and maintenance. The post holder must ensure the team operates efficiently and effectively, measuring their performance. This position is based in the head office and reports directly to the financial controller. The ideal candidate should be experienced in handling a wide range of administrative duties, supporting related tasks, and working independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
*Ensure the accounts team is adequately resourced, managing the day-to-day processing of supplier invoices from receipt to input, purchase order matching, and payment.
*Serve as the point of contact for administrative inquiries and delegate tasks as needed.
*Oversee the timely issuance of sales invoicing, credits, and reconciliation of statements against vendor accounts.
*Maintain a systematic filing system for client databases, business partners, and any evidence-based documentation.
*Motivate team members and monitor their performance, identifying training needs and providing support where necessary.
*Produce statistical and/or written reports for key management.
*Develop and implement office policies and procedures while adhering to the employee manual.
*Build relationships with internal and external clients and customers.
Key Competencies:
*Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
*Ability to multitask, prioritize workloads, and maintain an organized office environment.
*Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with employees, customers, and suppliers.
*Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines to ensure smooth office operations.
Essential Skills:
*Educated to GCSE A level or equivalent with excellent numeracy and literacy.
*Proven track record in a comparable role, including experience in an office environment.
*Excellent IT skills and proficiency in using a range of Microsoft packages.
*Ability to deliver verbal, analytical, and written reports to senior managers.
*Good understanding of employee and customer relations, including data protection.
*Commitment to upskilling to meet the changing needs of the business.
*Full clean driving licence.
Desirable Skills:
*Experience in project management.
*Accredited training in mediation and dispute resolution.
*Proven experience in collecting and analysing data.
