Teaching Assistant

*Day Rate: £90-£105
*Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
*Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

*Contract: Long-Term Temp to Perm
LTF Recruitment is seeking a proactive teaching assistant to support a Year 1 class at a welcoming primary school in Northfield. This long-term role has the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
*Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
*Support pupils in developing foundational skills in phonics, reading, writing, and maths.
*Encourage independence and readiness for learning among Year 1 pupils.
*Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to the teacher and parents as required.
*Promote positive behaviour and manage challenging situations in line with school policies.
*Provide emotional and social support to build confidence and self-esteem in pupils.
*Supervise pupils during break times, excursions, and school activities.
*Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to support SEN or EAL pupils.
Candidate Requirements
*Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent).
*Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a primary school.
*Experience supporting children with SEN and managing challenging behaviour.
*Knowledge of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
*Understanding of behaviour management strategies.
