Job Description:
The Work Shop are delighted to be recruiting for a well-established metal distributor as an Operations Assistant/Administrator based in Longbridge B31
The Role of Operations Assistant/ Administrator (Logistics)
To work closely with the Operations team within the Logistics department and assist all members to ensure smooth and efficient running of the function.
Key Responsibilities:
*Allocation of inventory to sales order.
*Assist with the production and receiving of shipping activities and the Goods In process
*Assist with the management of the line to stock
*Assist with the development of the operations production plan by coordinating requirements with sales, purchasing and logistics functions
*To manage telephone queries and issues to ensure on time delivery
*To manage open order reports
*General Administration as and when required MS office
*Adherence to the documented processes and procedures
*Loading of contract orders
Competencies Operations Assistant / Administrator (Logistics)
Educated to A Level standard
Customer service - Providing appropriate assistance and advice before and after to those who buy or use our products or services.
Problem solving & creative thinking - Making decisions and solving problems involving of varying levels of complexity, ambiguity and risk.
Computer skills - Tech literate - the ability to use systems and programmes such as Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Language skills - Ability to listen, speak, read and write - English
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Excellent Experience of logistics ideal but not essential
Experience working in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail
Customer services skills - internal and external
Good IT skills including creating and analysing spreadsheets
Good team player
The Package you will receive for Operations Assistant/Administrator (Logistics)
*Salary - up to £27,500
*Longbridge office
*Office based - 5 days per week. 8:30am - 5pm
*23 days annual leave (plus Bank Holidays) rising to 28 with service
*Pension - 5% employee contribution, 3% employer (rises with service - max 8%)
