Job Description:
Job Title: Chef
Location: Perthshire, Scotland
Salary: £31,000 per annum
Accommodation: Live-in option available
Key Responsibilities:
Menu Development:
Create and update menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and current food trends.
Develop innovative dishes that meet the restaurant’s standards and customer preferences.
Food Preparation and Cooking:
Prepare and cook high-quality dishes consistently, ensuring presentation and taste meet the restaurant’s standards.
Manage the preparation of ingredients and cooking processes to maintain efficiency during peak hours.
Kitchen Management:
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and timely service.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations1.
Inventory and Budget Management:
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimize waste.
Work within budget constraints, ensuring cost-effective use of ingredients and resources2.
Team Leadership:
Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Schedule shifts and manage staff performance to ensure high standards are maintained1.
Quality Control:
Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest quality, maintaining consistency in taste and presentation.
Implement and monitor food safety and hygiene practices to comply with regulations2.
Customer Interaction:
Occasionally interact with customers to gather feedback and ensure satisfaction.
Adapt dishes to accommodate special dietary requirements and preferences.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience as a chef in a high-volume, fresh food environment.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Passion for culinary arts and a commitment to high standards of food quality and presentation.
