Job Description:
MERITUS are recruiting for an Industrial Validation Engineer to join our enterprise level customer within defence at their major site in Bolton.
INDUSTRIAL VALIDATION ENGINEER - INSIDE IR35 - £40 PER HOUR - UNDERGO SC CLEARANCE - BOLTON (HYBRID WORKING 1/2 DAYS ONSITE PER WEEK) - 9 MONTHS - SINGLE STAGE INTERVIEW PROCESS
An opportunity has emerged within our expanding team, responsible for validating the external supply chain to ensure the successful delivery of parts essential for supporting Development programmes and preparing for full-scale Production. We are seeking an individual with experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Project delivery.
Responsibilities:
*Manage a portfolio of suppliers daily and oversee the project Industrial Validation Plan.
*Evaluate and validate the supply chain and suppliers’ capabilities to meet our customer’s requirements.
*Conduct Industrial Validation activities, including Process FMEAs, Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) assessments, and Production Readiness Reviews to prepare for series production.
*Identify and mitigate potential manufacturing and supply chain risks, implementing improvement and mitigation plans.
*Manage and validate the transfer of manufacturing capabilities from in-house to suppliers.
*Collaborate and support a multi-functional team.
Required Skillset/Experience:
*A professional with a strong background in Manufacturing Engineering, knowledgeable in manufacturing processes and techniques, and with an appreciation for project delivery/project management.
*Experience in manufacturing or supplier quality within Aerospace or Defence environments is desirable.
*Ability to support suppliers/customers in developing robust manufacturing systems and control plans to ensure delivery on quality, on time, and on cost in series production.
*Ideally, experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) and/or manufacturing capability transfer.
*Proficient in using Industrial Validation tools such as Process FMEAs, Measurement System Analysis, Process Mapping, MRL assessments, and Production Readiness Reviews.
*Excellent problem-solving skills to develop and implement root cause analysis and improvement plans within the supply chain for manufacturing system deviations.
*Strong communication skills, facilitating close collaboration with Design, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality organizations.
