Network Device Build Engineer (LIS)
We are in search of a Network Device Build Engineer for our Leidos engineering capability. The successful Engineer will be required to deliver the IT provision service through the building and testing of spoke network devices and high grade cryptographic devices for a MOD system in support of UK National Security

What you will do
Your primary responsibility will be to build testing of spoke network devices and high grade cryptographic devices for a MOD system in support of UK National Security. The role involves occasional visits to locations to perform technical health checks and equipment installations and locally performed upgrades.
Out of hours support. The on-call commitment will be based on a 1-in-9 rota of 7 day periods. This begins at 08.00 on Monday and ends at 08.00 the following Monday. It is a call-out service with obligation to return to site within 3 hours. On-call engineers are free to leave site at the end of their working day and await call out.
The successful candidate must attend and pass a 1 week funded course prior to becoming fully effective within the role.
What we are looking for
Essential
- The ability to gain and hold DV clearance
- Qualification: Cisco CCNA or CompTIA N+ certified
- Experience: of working in a NOC
- Behaviour: willing to learn and train in relevant network technology
- Behaviour: able to comply with security policy as a system administrator
- Behaviour: Able to follow direction from line managers, prioritize tasks ad maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Behaviour: able to liaise with other MoD service providers as part of providing the LIS provision service
-Behaviour: Ability to liaise with other MoD service providers as part of providing the capability service
Desirable
- Certification: foundation in service management such as ITIL
- Experience with configuration and administration of high-grade encryption devices
- Experience in supporting front end Voice over IP (VoIP) devices
- Experience with DM VPN protocol
- Experience with Active Directory to the limited extent of the application of group policy to client objects
Location: This role will be based in Herefordshire, with very occasional travel to other sites.
Clearance Required:
This role will require DV clearance.
