Job Description:
We are looking for an Experienced Facilities Officer to work for one of our clients within the Wigan area. This role will be an initial 3-month contract working 30 hours per week across Monday to Friday. Paying an hourly rate of GBP15.55 per hour. This role is to provide support to the Facilities Manager in all aspects of facilities management and to ensure that health and safety compliance is maintained to the relevant standards. What you will be doing as a Facilities Officer?
*Co-ordinate and collate annual risks assessments on property equipment and activities
*Monitor fire risk assessments compliance across all sites
*Liaise with relevant departments on health and safety issues, providing support where necessary
*Ensure all appropriate materials are stored in accordance with COSHH regulations
*Report accidents and incidents as required under RIDDOR regulations
*Co-ordinate and collate workplace assessments including DSE as and when required
*Liaise with the companies external H&S advisor as and when required
*Ensure that services are delivered on time and in line with contract requirements
*Maintain records of service visits and outcomes, bringing any additional action required to the attention of the facilities manager
*Monitor the expiry date of service contracts and advise the facilities manager of those due to expire
*Maintain an up-to-date record of all service contract arrangements and contract details
*Maintain an accurate system of records to be available for H&S executive and CQC
*Order supplies from the most economical sources whilst ensuring value for money and quality standards are maintained
*Liaise with the buildings maintenance manager and provide day to day support when necessary to ensure that all hospice premises are maintained and provide safe and complaint work environments
*Act as a point of contact for volunteers involved with service delivery e.g. PAT testing, water temperature testing, preparation of meeting rooms, ad hoc supplies procurement, logistical support to hospice departments etc
*Monitor in conjunction with the facilities manager a rolling schedule of planned and preventative building improvements and maintenance work
*Monitor and maintain records of the PAT testing programme across all premises
*Investigate equipment faults and take remedial action
*Participate in the on-call rota and attend the emergency call outs to the hospice and shops outside of normal working hours when called upon to do so
*Will need to go through a Standard DBS

*An understanding of current health and safety legislation, guidance and best practice
*Ability to manage time effectively to be a self-motivated, able to organise own workload to meet deadlines
*Good communication skills, verbal and written
*Competent using different IT systems
*Experience of working with volunteers
*Meticulous in following procedures
