Job Description:
We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of the UK’s leading providers of behavioural care and specialist support services, for an Occupational Therapist - Acute Adult inpatient services to join the established team in an independent mental health hospital in Cheadle, Stockport.
Set within picturesque landscaped gardens the hospital offers a range of comprehensive inpatient mental health services for young people and adults. The focus of our service is to help people to live their best life in a safe and supportive environment.
Their acute services offer round-the-clock assistance in times of emergencies. The specialist inpatient acute teams are committed to providing the highest quality of care, supporting patients with a wide range of mental health conditions in safe and highly therapeutic environments.
They are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Occupational Therapist to join their team. The Occupational Therapist will provide assistance to professional and clinical staff with the planning, implementation and evaluation of therapeutic activities in order to improve mental, emotional well-being and quality of life for our patients
This is a permanent, part time role - 26.5 hours over 4 days and offers a competitive salary of £24,733 per annum
Responsibilities
*Manages and co-ordinates the implementation of individual treatment plans for occupational therapy services ensuring treatments, activities and interventions are delivered through effective application and communication.
*Receives and responds promptly to referrals undertaking patient assessments to identify and prioritise patient needs before planning and delivering the appropriate and relevant interventions either on an individual or group basis. Maintains accurate and timely records detailing each patient’s rehabilitation / progress.
*Ensures the effective and efficient management of more junior staff.
*Maintains and develops close working relationships with professional and clinical colleagues within the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring clinical practice is in line with Priory policies and procedures and complies with statutory regulations and quality standards.
*Contributes to business growth by actively promoting priory therapy services in line with the local units’ business plan.
*Maintains effective communication links with patients, relatives, carers, and purchasers throughout the patient’s rehabilitation.
*Leads on implementation of new services within own site, sharing best practice with other sites in the area.
*Ensures the services and support provide offers good value for money and supports the overall aim of the site.
Required:
BSc Hons or Diploma in Occupational Therapy and accreditation by the HCPC
The right person for the role:

Suitable applicants should have a minimum of one year’s experience gained within a related clinical or therapeutic environment. It is desirable that the post-holder will have experience managing a caseload of service users with complex needs.
