Finance Director
£130-150,000 + great benefits
Location: Berkshire
The Finance Director is a senior executive responsible for overseeing the organisation’s financial strategy, planning, and management within the UK. This role involves delivering strategic financial insights, driving sound decision-making, and ensuring the company’s financial health and sustainability. The Finance Director will collaborate closely with the executive team and other departments to align financial objectives with overall business strategy while managing financial risks and regulatory compliance.
Reporting to the UK Managing Director and the Group CFO internationally you will have responsibility for managing a team, you will be a natural coach with the ability to develop your team to their full potential.
The role:
*To provide Strategic Financial Leadership by defining and implementing financial strategies aligned with the organisation’s long-term objectives.
*To provide financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership to support strategic initiatives, investments, and corporate growth.
*To lead the annual budgeting process, long-term financial planning, and periodic forecasting, by collaborating across departments to gather data, develop financial plans, and ensure alignment with organisational goals.
*To perform in-depth financial analyses, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and scenario planning, complemented by deliverable actionable insights to senior management, highlighting opportunities for performance improvement and cost optimization.
*To prepare and present comprehensive financial reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial dashboards, to the executive team and Board of Directors.
*To manage all financial risk and compliance, identifying, assessing, and managing financial risks, ensuring the organisation’s financial stability.
*To ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and internal governance policies.
*To build, mentor, and lead the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement. Setting performance standards and provide opportunities for professional development.
*To evaluate and enhance financial systems and processes to improve operational efficiency and accuracy, to be achieved by leading the adoption of technology-driven solutions for financial management and reporting.
*To monitor and manage cost structures, including direct and indirect costs, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold.
*To conduct financial due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and other investment opportunities.
The person:
*Degree educated, or equivalent
*Chartered Accountant
*An in-depth knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards, and advanced financial modelling techniques, with strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis.
*Excellence in analytical and strategic thinking, with an ability to interpret complex financial data, identify trends, and make informed strategic recommendations.
*A proven leader with exceptional team management skills
*Exceptional communication skills particularly with the ability to distil complex financial information into actionable insights.
*Technical Proficiency particularly with an advanced proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
*Familiarity with data visualization tools and financial reporting systems.
*Well-developed business acumen, with a strong understanding of market dynamics, competitive landscapes, and industry trends.
*Comprehensive experience in identifying and mitigating financial risks.
*Expertise in regulatory compliance and governance.
*Content to travel both nationally and internationally
*Experience of working within the manufacturing, production, scientific or construction industries.
*Previous experience of successfully operating within a subsidiary company, ideally within an international ownership structure
