Job Description:
Motor Underwriting Manager – Watnall/Remote 
Here at Jensten Underwriting, we are seeking a Motor Underwriting Manager, reporting into the Head of Underwriting & Pricing. 
The main purpose of the role is to provide reliable and expert inputs to the business in relation to the underwriting standards & philosophies required for delivering profitable loss ratios for our delegated authority and strategic initiatives in relation to the motor account. 
Our main Motor Underwriting office is based in Watnall, but we will consider candidates that can work from home and are happy to travel to our Watnall, London and Huntingdon office several times a month for insurers and team meetings.  
Some key objectives & responsibilities will include: 
*Work with the Head of Underwriting to deliver underwriting standards across the motor MGA portfolio 
*Support the Head of Product development in developing & maintaining capacity relationships  
*Support the Head of Pricing in monitoring MGA performance and implementing tactical action where necessary 
*Identify, develop and roll out changes to underwriting rulesets as necessary 
*Work with UW&P Operations team to review and update underwriting elements of IT product specifications  
*Work with Head of Claims to review claims referrals and propose solutions to either claims handlers or underwriting division 
*Work with the UW&P Audit team to drive improvements in processes & controls as appropriate 
*Identify requirements for underwriting training across the group. Design & deliver training as required 
About you
As our Motor Underwriting Manager, you will need to have an expert understanding of motor insurance underwriting principles with the ability to make decisions, being the main point of contact for the Jensten Trading teams. You will have the ability to use Excel to review and evaluate data, utilising functions such as pivot tables. 
You will also be or have:
*High level of prose literacy for policy wordings 
*Good knowledge of all motor insurance product lines and related practices (e.g. MIB) 
*Excellent communication skills to clearly converse and correspond with Jensten business channels 
*A self-starter with a collaborative and innovative approach to working 
*Act with integrity at all times when working with stakeholders 
*CII qualification an advantage
