Financial Accountant
Surrey (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to £65,000 - £70,000 & benefits
The Opportunity:
We’re seeking an experienced and detail oriented Financial Accountant to join a dynamic and fast paced organisation. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you’ll play a key role in managing financial transactions, preparing reports and ensuring compliance, providing integrity and the reliability of financial data.
This hybrid role offers a mix of office and remote working, with an initial requirement to be in the Surrey office 3-4 days per week during onboarding, transitioning to 2-3 days per week thereafter.
What You’ll Do:
*Prepare accurate financial statements and reports, overseeing month-end and year-end closing processes.
*Lead the monthly close process, delivering timely and precise financial reporting.
*Ensure robust financial systems, including accurate reconciliations and profit and loss analyses.
*Prepare and submit VAT returns and address VAT queries.
*Support compliance submissions and collaborate closely with the HR team to ensure smooth payroll delivery.
*Contribute to budget preparation, cashflow forecasting, and ongoing process improvements.
*Work with auditors to coordinate external audits and provide necessary documentation.
*Maintain the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring all additions and disposals adhere to company policies.
*Stay updated on financial developments and accounting best practices to ensure compliance.
About You:
*A professional qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with relevant experience in financial accounting.
*Proven experience in a fast paced, operationally driven environment.
*Strong understanding of UK accounting standards and financial regulations.
*Exceptional problem solving skills and a collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement.
*High attention to detail, even under pressure, and advanced proficiency in Excel. Experience with NetSuite is an advantage.
*The ability to communicate financial information effectively to both financial and non financial stakeholders.
