Job Description:
Financial Accountant / Controller
My client, based in East Kent is seeking a skilled and accomplished Financial Accountant / Controller to join their Financial Accounting team, responsible for balance sheet reconciliations, audit, tax, and treasury functions. You will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the control environment, supporting internal and external audits, and ensuring compliance with statutory reporting. This role is perfect for an ACA/ACCA-qualified professional with strong organisational skills, change management experience, and the ability to work effectively in a large, complex, and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
*Accounting & Audit: Lead balance reconciliations using new software, provide insights on balance sheet risks and opportunities, and ensure audit readiness.
*Control Environment: Optimise control processes, maintain approvals, and work closely with internal audit teams.
*Systems Management: Act as key user for financial systems, assist with ERP implementation issues, and drive report automation.
*Tax & Treasury: Support tax submissions, manage VAT and corporation tax processes, and assist with transfer pricing and reporting.
*Statutory Compliance: Ensure accurate filing of returns, including statutory and regulatory reporting.
Key Qualifications:
*ACA/ACCA qualification
*Strong organisational skills and senior-level communication ability
*Experience in change management and working within a multinational/multicurrency environment (preferred)
*Knowledge of financial systems and willingness to develop within a dynamic environment
