Job Description:
TeacherActive is currently seeking a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialised day school in DN6. This school caters to pupils aged 3-19 years with severe learning difficulties, including a small cohort of Post-16 students educated at our offsite provision. The school is committed to delivering personalised and inspirational learning journeys aimed at enabling our students to achieve their full potential. Their vision revolves around preparing learners for the future by crafting tailored learning experiences that address their individual needs. This role is agency and goes on school needs.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to creating a safe, purposeful, and stimulating environment for our pupils, fostering mutual respect, and ensuring every student feels valued and supported. They will work closely with teaching staff to assist in implementing strategies for behavior management and academic support.
Key Responsibilities:
*Provide support to teaching staff in creating a safe, purposeful, and stimulating learning environment rooted in mutual respect.
*Assist in implementing strategies for behavior management, utilizing praise, sanctions, and rewards consistently and fairly.
*Collaborate effectively with colleagues to identify opportunities for sharing effective practices and supporting the development of students.
*Work as a team member to contribute to the overall development and success of the school community.
*Demonstrate consistently high standards of personal conduct and professionalism in line with school expectations.
Requirements:
*Experience working with individuals with severe learning difficulties.
*Experience working 1-1 with SEND is desirable
*Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
*Commitment to creating inclusive and supportive learning environments for all students.
*Passion for supporting and inspiring young learners to reach their full potential.
*Willingness to undergo relevant training and professional development as required.
