Job Description:
We are looking to recruit an Engineering Tutor who will be responsible for coaching, mentoring, tutoring, and assessing students. The Tutor will support apprentices to develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours that are required to be demonstrated within the apprenticeship. This will consist of coaching and mentoring sessions, knowledge delivery through teaching sessions run in the classroom and workshops in Crewe. You will be required to teach in both the classroom and the workshop environment, complete guidance, and mock end point assessments to ensure that apprenticeships are ready for the independent assessment at the end of their apprenticeship.
You will work closely with other Learning coach’s to ensure that the skills and knowledge learnt in the classroom will be embedded in the workplace. You will take part in discussions with employers to build good relationships and be involved in updating all parties on the apprentice’s journey through progress reviews.
This post is offered on a 6 month fixed term basis, working 37 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities include:
*Fulfil teaching commitments which will consist of both classroom and workshop environment.
*Manage and maintain a caseload of learners as agreed with your line manager and carry out regular learner interventions
*Ensure evidence for learning, achievement, funding, and Ofsted is captured effectively and timely
*Progress learners using onefile, setting targets for Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
*Individualised learning programmes, agreed with employer and learner based on initial assessments and including Maths and English
*Plan the end point assessment process with learners and employers, ensuring preparation and practice is included in the learning plan
*Motivate and drive learners to achieve their qualifications on time.
*Deliver Maths and English (and ICT where applicable), to support the learner’s achievement and progress in these areas
*Ensure marking and feedback to the learner is accurate and supports their development
*Maintain a positive working relationship with employers ensuring progression and new leads are generated
Qualifications, Experience & Skills needed:
*Relevant Engineering experience and relevant qualifications
*Good English, Maths, and ICT skills
*Ability to deliver engaging and interactive teaching in the workshop to meet learners needs.
*Ability to plan, paying attention to detail and a track record in developing and delivering robust, effective, prioritised plans which achieve KPIs and strategic aims
*Proactively drive learner performance and engagement
*To be customer focused, having the ability to present in a positive manner, persuading and influencing where necessary
*Teaching qualification
